WWI Imperial German 1898/05 New Pattern Bayonet and Scabbard 1917

This is a WWI German 1898/05 rifle Bayonet & scabbard. This is a nice example of aWAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF a.N., new pattern 98/05 with a trimmed muzzle ring and with flash guard. The unsharpened blade is in very good original condition, heavy cosmoline, no chip with correct tip, length is correct at 14 3/8", spine is marked Crown over W over 17. Handle is also in very good condition with nice brown patina, left scale has a minor chip missing. There is a little surface oxidation on pommel, handle and guard. The all metal scabbard is in good condition with very little of the original finish, with surface oxidation. It has matching makers marks with an imperial cross.
