Rare Sealed! Winchester 30 Long RF Black Powder Ammo Over-label Side
This is a sealed box, 50 original rounds, of .30 Long Rim Fire ammunition manufactured by Winchester in a very interesting over-labeled factory box. The two piece box has the very early mid-1870's “Metallic Cartridges” label with the incorrect Stetsons Patent date of Oct. 24th 1871. However, the orange and red side seal label is a much later “8-12” dated one that has over-labeled a blue side seal that is just visible peeking out on some edges. Not an uncommon practice at Winchester to use up old label stock but this makes for a very interesting box variation of a now very scarce caliber. This is the second such labeling we have seen for this caliber – perhaps from a special order. The condition of the box and labels is very good with edge and corner wear, rub wear and some flaking to the label edges. A great box for the Winchester Ammo collector or to pair with your old pocket revolver or Derringer.
