Scarce Export Box Winchester 44 W.C.F. Ammo Full Box Models 73 & 92

This is a full box, 50 rounds, of .44 W.C.F. black powder ammunition (.44-40) manufactured by Winchester with 200 grain lead bullets.  The yellow/green labeled two piece box was manufactured between 1939-45 and was intended for export with wording “MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”.  Unlike the example shown on page 70 in Giles & Shuey's One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes, 1856-1956 this example has a full side seal label with the third style cut of the M73 carbine.  The top and side labels are complete with near excellent graphics and color having some minor flaking and age soiling.  The box is now solid with multiple, well done repairs to the inside top and bottom seams and shows a much older exterior tape repair to one bottom edge.  The cartridges all have the correct head stamps but some have different age toning to the lead and cases.  A very fine overall box in the hard to find export labeling.
