Scarce Winchester 1918 Special Gvt. Cart Issue 22 B.B. Cap Thompson-Hoffer
This is a full and sealed box, 100 original rounds, of .22 Bullet Breech Caps manufactured by Winchester and labeled as “Special Government Cartridges”. These Government Special cartridges were developed for the Thompson-Hoffer Sub-caliber device used in special training versions of the 1903 Springfield rifle. The cartridges are the size of .22 shorts and have a semi-round lead bullet. The box remains factory sealed and in excellent condition. A rarely seen box of ammunition and a “must have” if you own one of these rifles. Identified as WRA-9.5A BB-1 in Roger Huegel's online .22 Rim Fire Box ID Reference based on the original Dunn classification system.
