Early 20th Century Winchester 44 WCF 1873 Rifle “Picture” Ammo Box
This is a full box, 50 rounds, of .44 WCF (.44-40) ammunition manufactured by Winchester. The early 1900's (circa 1902-05) two piece, black powder box has a very nice primary label with “Center Fire” call out and a nice cartridge cut showing some small staining and a tiny flaking. The side seal label has the desirable cut of a model 1873 rifle with the later graphic which no longer showed a forward band and has a carbine sight. The box has professional repairs to the inside seams with overall light soiling and flaking. The cartridges appear correct for the box but perhaps not native and are in excellent condition. A very good-fine box that is much sought after by Model 1873 owners.
