Scarce Smith & Wesson Post WWII M&P Pre-Model 10 Revolver 38 Spl S Prefix 2" barrel

Serial #S823511, .38 Special, 2 inch pinned barrel with a bright, excellent bore.  This is the post World War II Military & Police “Pre-Model 10” revolver manufactured circa 1945-46 by Smith & Wesson.  The barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 90-92% of the original blue thinning at the muzzle with wear on the high edges, fine drag line and some very shallow fine pitting on the frame around the S&W logo.  The serrated trigger and hammer show much of the original case-colors.  All numbered parts are matching including the diamond center checkered stocks which rate very fine with light use marks.  Mechanically it functions properly with good timing and tight lock up.  An overall very nice example of these desirable immediate Post War Pre-10's.  FFL or C&R
