Rare 4” Barrel Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 ½ First Issue 32 RF Refinished

Serial #19863, .32 Rim Fire, 4 inch ribbed octagonal barrel with a fair dark bore with pitting good rifling.  This is the Model No. 1 ½ fist issue revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson, a late one with 1859 and 1865 patent dates.  It is also one of the very rare, estimated 200 built out of a total production of 26,300, that have a four inch barrel.  Visually attractive, this example retains most of a later added blue on the metal surfaces leaving very legible name and patent date markings on the rib while showing traces of some of the underlying roughness.  The original rose wood grips, correctly numbered to the gun on the right panel, are in very good condition with some finish loss and surface scratches and a crack on the right that extends over half way up.  The frame, barrel and cylinder all have have matching assembly numbers.  The barrel lock-up is good with some lateral play.  It does cock into the first position but does not advance the cylinder.   A very good looking and rare 4 inch version of the S&W 1 ½ that may help fill a hole in your collection.  Antique
