S&W .38/44 Outdoorsman Revolver (Pre-Model 23) Fine Condition

Serial #S85818, .38 Special, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is a very nice, five-screw frame example.  Matching numbers are present on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining about 95-97% of the original blue finish.  There is some mild silvering present at the muzzle, along a few of the high edges and projections, as well as a moderate turn-ring at the rear of the cylinder.  The trigger and target hammer retain a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening, with pewter gray metal on the balance.  The unnumbered, diamond-center grips are in very good-fine condition with some minor handling marks and wear around the butt, and some flattening of the points.  The lock-up is tight and the action functions smoothly in both single and double-action.  This is a fine-near excellent N-Frame .38 revolver overall.  FFL or C&R
