Smith & Wesson 38 Double Action Perfected Model C&R
Serial #4210, .38 S&W, 4 inch round ribbed barrel with integral front sight and a very fine bore showing some light pitting just forward of the breech with strong rifling. This is the .38 Double Action Perfected model manufactured by Smith & Wesson from 1909-1920 and represents the last of the top break revolvers featuring both a top latch and side thumb release. This model was also the only one to have the side plate located on the right side of the frame. The nickel plated revolver is in near excellent overall condition with the barrel, frame, and cylinder retaining about 85-90% of the original finish with most of the loss on the grip strap and frame. The hammer and trigger show muted original case color. The plain, unmarked walnut grips appear original to the gun and rate about excellent with some light use marks and finish loss. Mechanically it functions properly with tight lock up having only the slightest of vertical barrel movement. C&R
