Antique Balkan/Anatolian Flintlock Pistol Built in the British Style
NSN, .60 Caliber, 8 3/8" barrel with a fair, lightly pitted bore. This is a nice looking pistol that has an overall light gray patina on the metal with decorative engraving, some of it in imitation of cursive Roman alphabetical writing (on top of the barrel breech and on the lockplate). The pin-fastened stock has a full-length forend without nosecap, and a curved grip with bulbous terminal, and relief-carved decorations around the barrel tang. The brass trigger guard, buttcap, and wrist escutcheon have a dull yellow-ochre patina throughout, and the wood has small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the lightly sanded and re-oiled surface. The action is fully functional and locks firmly at both half and full-cock. This is an attractive and functional flintlock piostol, and is in very good condition overall. Antique
