Beautiful Cased Pair of Paris Retailer Marked Belgian Turn-Off Pistols
NSN, .47 Caliber (11.6mm), 3 1/4" Damascus barrels with excellent, bright bores. These are very well-made and handsome pistols that have tightly grooved, rifled barrels and concealed triggers. The metal has an overall bright gray patina with excellent twist patterns along both barrels, floral engraving on the frames and hammers, and blued vignettes on the left sides with gold inlaid retailer’s markings: "GUNTER / A PARIS." The pistols both have beautifully figured, fluted Circassian walnut grips. The butt plates have Roman centurion motif doors covering the spare cap/bullet compartments. Both pistols have excellent actions that function flawlessly. The guns are housed in an original French-fit case lined with maroon baize and containing: a turned wooden powder flask, ebony-handled nipple wrench, and two lidded compartments. The case exterior is covered in the original lightly scuffed, but intact. These are wonderful high quality pistols, in a splendid period casing, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
