Beautiful K.L. Shelton Kentucky Rifle 50 Cal His Personal Hunting Gun Mfg Built 1982
Serial #NSN, .50 Caliber black powder, flintlock muzzleloader, 36 inch octagon barrel with a bright, excellent rifled bore. A tag on the rifle states it was the personal hunting rifle built in 1982 and used by Ken Shelton of Tucson, AZ until 1994. A longtime regular at The Safari Club International Ken has a loyal following and stellar reputation for very high quality custom built rifles that often took a year or two on waiting lists when ordered. This beautiful example demonstrates his craftsmanship and remains in excellent, very lightly used condition. The barrel and action show virtually all of the original brown finish. The full length Tiger Stripe Maple stock rates excellent with scattered minor marks and contusions with bright brass hardware and is beautifully accented with creative inlays including a silver star on the left side of the stock and three inlaid hearts, on on each side of the stock and one just forward of the trigger-guard. It is equipped with sensitive double set triggers and is sighted with a fixed rear and silver blade front sights. The hinged patchbox functions well and contains a spare flint and cleaning jag. An excellent example of a K.L. Shelton rifle. Antique
