British Type: No.9 Mk.I bayonet Poole 1949
This is a very good to excellent No.9 Mk.I bayonet. These are basically a No.5 Bowie blades fitted to a No.4 socket. The un-sharpened blade shows very little wear and retains most of its original finish, This bayonet was made by Royal Ordnance Factory at Poole in 1949 for the No 4 rifle or the Mk V Sten. Total made in 1949 was 150k No.9 Mk.I. The scabbard rates excellent with a tiny dent almost no loss of finish. Please see pictures for details.
