British Artillery Private Purchase Mess Jacket

This is the cavalry style mess jacket, fastened only at the stand collar which has tarnished and slightly detached embroidered bullion borders and flaming bomb devices. The fabric is in excellent shape without any fading and there is only some residual stitching left on the epaulettes from rank boards that are no longer present. Likewise there are two stitched loops at the breast for attaching a no longer present medal bar. The red and white silk lining is in excellent condition but the trefoils have been removed from the cuff accents. A Kowloon, Hong Kong tailor's label is present in the inside breast pocket. This is a very nice example of a British mess jacket in fine overall condition.
