Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver Built in 1863
Serial #124770, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a good bore that has spots of mild pitting along its length. This is an 1863-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, wedge, and arbor. The metal has an overall dark, plum-brown patina with areas of freckling scattered throughout, as well as some mild pitting at the rear of the cylinder, some mild surface oxidation on the breech end of the barrel and backstrap, as well as tool marks around the wedge. The brass trigger guard has a darkly mottled brown ochre patina, and the walnut grip is in very good shape with numerous minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about, and faint, but visible inspector cartouches on either side of the butt. The action is tight and fully functional. This is a very nice example of a Civil War Colt overall. Antique
