Civil War US Colt Model 1960 Army Revolver Made in 1862

Serial #55939, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a very good antique bore light to moderate corrosion and strong rifling.  This is an 1862-made revolver that has all-matching numbers except for the wedge.  The metal has an overall darkly mottled gray and plum-brown patina, with some scattered handling and impact marks, especially on and around the wedge.  Traces of original blue remain on the underside of the barrel, and there are some traces of original color case-hardening still visible on the frame.  The cylinder retains about 40-50% of the roll scene, and there is some light pitting on and around the nipples, with some of the safety pins still pronounced.  The brass trigger guard has a pale, yellow-ochre patina throughout, while pinprick pitting is present along the backstrap.  The walnut grip is in good condition, with minor handling marks, some minor impact marks on the butt, and visible inspector cartouches at the butt on either side.  The lock-up is still tight, and the action is fully functional.  This is a great looking, US purchased 1860 Army, and is in very good plus condition overall.  Antique
