Excellent WWI US M1917 Remington Bayonet and Scabbard
This is an original WWI US M1917 Remington Bayonet with matching leather scabbard. The M1917 was produced by Remington and Winchester from 1917 to 1919 at approximate 2.5 million pieces. They fit the Model 1917 and US shotguns Winchester M97, M12, Ithaca M37 and Stevens M520-30, 620A. This M1917 is in excellent condition with an excellent unsharpened, correct length and unaltered tipped blade with the first 1” near perfect blued and the reaming parkerized portion looking nearly unused with only scabbard marks. The ricasso is stamped with all of the correct markings including the US, Remington in circle, bomb, eagle and 17. The crossguard and pommel are in excellent condition with almost no signs of wear or oxidation with the pommel being marked with the Canadian Broad Arrow. The wooden grips are in excellent condition with light wear and a dark brown patina marked "145". The correct second pattern scabbard with M10 hanger has 95%+ original olive drab finish and is marked HE, JEWELL-1918 and matching "145" with tight stitching and all metal components with very light scattered oxidation. Will make a fine addition to any collection and will rank #1 in many.
