Excellent WWI US M1917 Winchester Bayonet and Scabbard

This is an original WWI US M1917 Winchester Bayonet with matching leather scabbard. The M1917 was produced by Remington and Winchester from 1917 to 1919 at approximate 2.5 million pieces. They fit the Model 1917 rifle and US shotguns Winchester M97, M12, Ithaca M37 and Stevens M520-30, 620A. This M1917 is in very good+ condition with a nice, factory edge, correct length and unaltered tipped blade with the first 1” nicely blued and the reaming near to bright with some lightly etched areas. The ricasso is stamped with all of the correct markings including the US, W in circle, bomb, eagle, X and 1917. The crossguard and pommel are in near excellent condition with light signs of wear and light oxidation with the pommel being not marked. The wooden grips are in excellent condition with light wear and a dark brown patina unmarked. The correct second pattern scabbard with M10 hanger has 65%+ original olive drab finish and is marked N.I.K., JEWELL-1918, with tight stitching and all metal components with light scattered oxidation.  Winchester made only a fraction of the total M1917 bayonets.
