German Kar.71 Cavalry Carbine by Spandau

Serial #3640, 11mm Mauser, 20" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is an 1878-dated cabine with all-matching numbers that has a mostly plum-brown patina on the barrel, sights, nosecap, and furniture, as well as freckled gray on the bolt and receiver.  Areas of mild pitting are present on the nosecap and some further minor cleaning marks visible on the left receiver flat.  The full-length stock has small handling marks and minor blemishes throughout, and the original acceptance stamps are still relatively crisp and clear.  There is dome darkening of the varnish where it meets the buttplate as well.  This is a handsome and desirable 11mm German Carbine, in very good plus condition, and would make a great addition to any collection.  Antique
