Gevelot 4 Gauge Aluminum French Shotgun Shell Empty

This is a single empty 4 Gauge collector cartridge manufactured by Gevelot.  The heavy aluminum shell is marked “GEVELOT / PARIS / 4” and measures 3 3/16 inches in length and is just over an inch in diameter.  The empty hull appears unfired and is a massive shotgun shell that will dwarf others on display.
