Moore's Patent Firearms Co. Front Loading Revolver 32 Teat Fire Antique
Serial #5194, .32 Teat Fire, 3 ¼ inch barrel with a very fine bright bore with strong rifling and light pitting half way to the muzzle. This is a Moore's Patent Firearms Company Front Loading revolver manufactured from 1864 to 1870 which fired a special cartridge designed by Danier Moore and David Williamson. The antique is well marked “MOORE'S PAT FIRE ARMS CO BROOKLYN NY” on the barrel and the cylinder shows “D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5, 1864”. This model is without the hook extractor but does have the small hinged swivel gate on the right side of the barrel just forward of the cylinder which keeps the shells from sliding out. In fine condition engraved frame retains about 45-50% of the original silver plate with the barrel and cylinder mostly pewter-gray showing some impact marks near the wedge on the right side with a small spot of cleaning. The walnut grips rate excellent with some minor use marks and contusions. The action is crisp holding at half and full cock with proper timing. A fine example of these neat Civil War era pocket revolvers. Antique
