Original US M1810 Springfield Socket Bayonet
This is a US M1810 Springfield Socket Bayonet. The 14 3/4" blade retains almost no original finish with "US" "CB" on the ricasso and imperfections on the surface, light marks from age with oxidation, 6" fuller at the tip. The flat fronted neck shows minor wear on both sides which continues into the sides of the socket. The 3 1/8" socket is marked "U" near the end of the mortise with light marks from use and oxidation. The socket ID is .850" and has a heavy bridge at the end. Please see photo's for fine detail.
