R.I.A M1898 Canteen with Woven Strap 1904 Rock Island

This is a model 1898 Rock Island Arsenal canteen with tan cover in very good condition, tight stitching, light age soiling, stains and "U.S." on the front side and "37" on the back. The canteen body appears in good condition with no dents and light oxidation around the spout and triangle loops. This canteen has a stopper and chain with the stopper being a replacement. The short lived web strap with two simple brass hooks is in very good+ condition with great hardware and clearly marked "R.I.A 1904". This is a fine example of a pre-war canteen and strap.
