Rare 36 Allen Lip Fire Cartridge Loaded Ammunition Navy Revolver Civil War Ammo

This is a single live round of .36 Allen Lip Fire ammunition manufactured by Allen & Wheelock company for the Navy Lip Fire Revolver also manufactured by them.  The very scarce round was a brief stop on the evolution of metallic cartridges patented on September 25, 1860 and produced for a very shot time eventually being made obsolete with rim fire.  From an old ammunition collection this example is in very fine condition with the former collectors identification marking.  A great round for display with your Allen revolver.
