Rare WW2 Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 Rifle by Savage – Stevens 303 British

Serial #9C8750, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an early production, "US PROPERTY"-marked, 1942-dated rifle, made to Mk. 1 specs. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue, with some mild fading at the muzzle, on the receiver, as well as along the high edges and projections. Additionally, some of the components retain their black Suncorite finish which has flaked lightly on a few spots. The matching bolt has some further fading on the handle, with streaks of blue along the body, and is fitted with an early button-type cocking-piece. A Mk. II rear sight is fitted as well. The walnut buttstock, "S"-marked forend, and handguards are in fine shape with some minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about the reapplied military oil finish. A single original magazine is also included, and there are post-war Birmingham commercial proofs at the muzzle. A wartime khaki canvas sling is also installed. This is a rare, very early Savage-Stevens No. 4, and is in excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
