Remington No. 1 Export Socket Bayonet
This is a Remington No. 1 Export Socket Bayonets produced for the Remington No. 1 Rolling Block rifle which was manufactured from 1866-96. Over-all the bayonet is in good+ condition, no markings and a nice patina with a patch of polish on the extra long ricasso, where they found no marking. The blade comes in at 18 1/4" with a muzzle ring diameter of .708 and socket length of 2 9/16". The Remington rifles had a wide front sight base, which resulted in a much wider mortise than on other contemporary bayonets, which this has.
