Scarce Pre-War British Enfield No. 2 Mk. I Revolver Military Foot Police 2nd Year

Serial #6303, .38/200 British, 5" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This 1931-dated revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal retaining about 97-98% of the original blue finish that has mild silvering along the high edges and projections, as well as a small area of gray fading on the right side of the frame at the rear of the trigger guard.  All markings are crisp and clear, including the post-war Birmingham commercial proofs, and the "MFP / 19" unit stamp on the frame knuckle (Military Foot Police).  A scarce marking!  The grooved walnut grips are Broad Arrow-marked, and are in good-very good shape with numerous minor handling marks and flattening of the points on both sides.  Additionally, there is a stable hairline crack on the right panel that rises from the butt up past the toe of the grip.  The action lock-up is tight and functional, however the extractor does not retract as the barrel opens fully.  This is a fine example of a desirable pre-war No. 2 revolver with a scarce unit marking.  FFL or C&R
