Scarce St. Louis Patent Shell Mfg Company 10 Ga Conical Base Shotshell

This is a single 10 gauge primed shotshell marked “Conical Base ST. LOUIS MO / No. 10” and manufactured by the St. Louis Patent Shell Manufacturing Company that operated between 1875-1881.  A short lived company with an innovative shell designed to use less powder and lower recoil.  The surviving shells are scarce and will add to any collection.  This example is in excellent condition with collector markings along the brass base and easily removed.
