Swiss M1817/42 Musket Socket Bayonet
This is a Swiss M1817/42 Musket Socket Bayonet. This example is in very good original condition with a nearly 15 1/2" blade, marked "X" and many others on the ricasso, "77" crown over D and V in a circle. The bayonet is specked bright with the lightest oxidation on the top side of the socket. The appropriate rear socket diameter is .857" diameter, front of the socket and 2.62" socket length.
