US M1892 Krag Bayonet Conversion Fighting Knife
This is an original Springfield made US M1892 Krag bayonet made in 1895 that has been converted into a field fighting knife. The 8 1/2" blade is still bright with some scattered oxidation, spear point with slight rounding, sharpened at some point. The guard has been altered to remove the muzzle ring and the locking mechanism has been remove and filled with what looks to be epoxy? The knife has a good balance and feels good in the hand. Add to any collection.
