US Model 1892 .38 Caliber Revolver Holster ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL

Rock Island Arsenal produced a significant quantity of Model 1892 .38 Caliber Revolver Holsters in "fair" leather, with the "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL" stamp on the flap with no date. This "Fair" leather (used until 1902) was a light-colored, unoiled leather that was prone to staining and hardening. This holster show many years of service and remains in very good condition with tight stitching and nice hardware. It is marked "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL" on the front of the flap and has "E.M.S" for the inspectors mark. Also found on the front flap "27" Over "C 1003", most likely unit markings, could be rack number. Has what appears the original leg cord.
