WW1 German LP.08 Artillery Luger Pistol by DWM 1917 Date
Serial #7885e, 9mm Para., 7 7/8" barrel with a very good bore that has minor freckling within the grooves. This is a 1917 dated pistol that has matching numbers on most of the components, including the rear sight, although the toggle assembly and bolt components are numbered to a different gun. The metal retains 85-90% of the original blue finish with silvering at the muzzle, and along the high and projecting edges, and there are some small areas of mild surface freckling scattered throughout. Traces of original straw color mixing with darkly mottled gray are still present on the trigger, take-down lever, safety, and ejector. The checkered wooden grips are in very good-near fine condition, and have light-moderate wear and flattening of the points on both sides. A single non-matching wood-base magazine is included. There are no import marks visible on the gun. This is a nice example of a desirable, war-dated Artillery Luger with a shootable bore, and rates very good plus condition overall. FFL or C&R
