Very Rare Allen & Wheelock 25 Lipfire Pocket Revolver Antique

Serial/Assembly #571, .25 Lipfire, 3 inch octagon barrel with a fine bore with scattered light roughness and good rifling.  This is a very rarely seen Allen & Wheelock pocket lipfire revolver manufactured from 1860-1863.  The antique revolver is completely unmarked except for the Assembly numbers which is absolutely correct for this model with only several observed having Allen & Wheelock markings as it was produced during the Rollin White / Smith & Wesson lawsuits.  With fewer than 200 produced this example represents one of the most rare Allen revolvers with this example remaining in fine, fully functional and unconverted condition.  The seven shot cylinder was loaded by removing the cylinder so no loading ports are present on this unique firearm with another unusual attribute of a brass side plate to expose the inner working on the left side of the frame.  The barrel and frame retain perhaps 15-20% of the original blue finish with the hammer showing generous amounts of somewhat muted case-hardened colors.  The rosewood grips are solid with about 75% of the original varnish with the balance worn smooth and each panel is numbered to the gun as is the cylinder and pin.  Mechanically it functions properly with correct timing holding at half and full cock with a crisp trigger pull.  A fine example of a rarely seen Allen & Wheelock pocket lipfire revolver.  Antique
