M1897 Type 30/38/99 Arisaka Rifle Bayonet Kokura

This is a high quality pre-WWII built M1897 Type 30/38/99 Arisaka Rifle Bayonet. This particular M1897 was built by Kokura and has a bright sharpened, 15 9/16” blade with light spotting and preservative residue. The tip and edge are unaltered with a strong Kokura cannonball makers mark stamp at the ricasso. The guard has little of the original blue with a forward, strongly curved quillon of the earliest pattern. The wooden, very good condition grips are held by two screw bolts with oval washers and have a nice patina. These grips do not wrap around and meet at the bottom as they do on later models. The pommel has little of the blue and is stamped with 68759. This is paired with an excellent all steel scabbard with loop and cylindrical shaped finial with some of its bluing and light surface oxidation. This also has a very nice leather frog with tight stitching and no tares.
