British No.9 Mk.1/L Export Bayonet and Scabbard Matching Numbers
Built for export at the Royal Enfield Small Arms factory in 1953. This bayonet and scabbard are marked "P F 317735" which indicates sale to the Republic of Ireland 1 of 50,000 ordered. The pair are in good to very good original condition with the a 7 7/8" unsharpened blade. Also marked "NO9 Mk1 E-53" and broad arrow proofs. The sheath has some of the original finish with scuffs and wear but dent free. This is a historically interesting piece for any collection. Ref. "The Spirit of the Pike" Grahm Priest pg.227
