US Model 1903 Mark I Rifle by Springfield 1920
Serial #1167794, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1920-made rifle that has a 3-20 dated "SA" barrel and retains 97-98% of an interwar parkerized finish that has some small areas of silvering at the muzzle and along a few of the exposed edges and bearing surfaces. The original magazine cut-off designed to lock the Pedersen Device and the original two-piece sear have been replaced with a conventional follower and sear. The bolt is an early style with straight handle, and the walnut stock has numerous minor handling marks and surface blemishes in the armory reapplied oil finish. A visible, but illegible inspector cartouche is present on the left side of the wrist, while the handguard is in excellent original shape and is an unissued replacement. The rifle is equipped with a 191(?) dated US Model 1907 leather sling that has numerous minor surface scuffs but is still intact and serviceable. This is a nice refurbished '03 Mark I that is in very good-fine condition. FFL or C&R
