Fine Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver Four-Screw All Matching 4 Digit Serial Number
Serial #5329, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a very good bore that has some dark freckling within the grooves. This is an 1861-made revolver that has all-matching numbers, including the wedge and cylinder arbor. The barrel and loading lever assembly has traces of original blue and color case-hardening remaining on the protected areas, and the balance turned to a mottled plum-brown patina with some gray on the exposed edges and surfaces. Thin freckling and some pinprick pitting is also present, heaviest towards the muzzle. The cylinder has a mottled brown and dark gray patina, with thin freckling throughout, about 40-50% of the roll scene still visible, and a few of the safety pins remaining. The frame has a matching patina, but does retain some faded color case-hardening at the rear where the metal meets the grip. The iron backstrap has numerous marks and small blemishes along its length, while the brass trigger guard has a pale, yellow-ochre patina throughout. The walnut grip is likewise in good condition, with minor handling marks on the both sides, and a previous owner’s initials carved into the flare on the left: "M / G." The lock-up is still tight, and the action is fully functional. This is a very good four-screw frame 1860 Army, that remains in as found, untouched condition. Antique
