Excellent Matching WW2 British No. 4 Mk 1(T) Sniper Rifle w/ Transit Case

Serial #U36059, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is a splendid 1945-dated, Holland & Holland converted, "TR" and "S51" marked rifle that has 95-97% of the original blue finish remaining, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, along the high and projecting edges, as well as on the matching numbered bolt.  Birmingham commercial proofs are present, as is a pre-’68 "ENGLAND" origin stamp on the socket applied when the rifle was imported into the US.  The matching-numbered scope mount has a faded "N92" Dagleish & Son contractor code, while the rear sight has the "S.M." and "N67" Singer Mfg. codes.  The "S51" (Holland & Holland) marked buttstock, matching numbered forend, and handguards have crisp stamps in the otherwise excellent oil finish, and only scattered very minor surface blemishes here and there.  An original Suncorite-finished magazine is included.  The rifle is equipped with a No. 32 Mk. 3 scope with Cook, Troughton & Sims maker’s marking, and has clear optics with an intact post and line reticle.  The matching scope serial number is stamped on the top of the wrist as well.  The rifle is housed in an original wooden transit case (repainted and numbered to a different rifle and scope set) with a leather sling, metal No. 32 scope case, and leather lens covers.  This is a fantastic example of No. 4 (T) sniper, with desirable extras, in excellent condition, and would make a great addition to any collection.   FFL or C&R
