German M1898 Quillback Second Pattern Bayonet Simon

German M1898 Quillback rifle Bayonet with scabbard for 98 Mauser and carbine. This is a fine example of a second pattern model M1898 Quillback, made after 1902 with a two piece wooden scales and with no flash guard. This example was made by Simson & CO Suhl Germany and is stamped on the ricasso. The blade is excellent bright original condition with light surface oxidation, no chip or corrosion with correct tip, length is correct at 20 5/8”. Handle and guard are in very good condition, having some light surface soiling on handle and guard. The serial number 20867 on the guard is matching on the scabbard. The scabbard is in very good condition with only slight wear on the leather, tight stitching, metal parts with very light surface scuffs and oxidation. Please see pictures for details.
