Silk Presentation Map U.S. Ordnance Depot
A unique piece of U.S. militaria. This silk piece is 36 X 23 inches and is a hand drawn outline of the U.S. Tokyo ordnance depots in the early 1950's. This piece was a parting gift as presented to a U.S. Major Joseph Capuano who was the Depot Commander. The dedication is written in both English and Japanese. It expresses what workers felt for the major. This depot was quite large with 1,155 Japanese workers in addition to the U.S. troops. We don't know the date of the departure. This piece is finely executed with many US and Japanese signatures.
