Springfield 1903-A1 Model of 1928 Rifle by Ogden Arsenal (Elmer Keith Inspected)
Serial #836019, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle has a 1918-made Springfield receiver mated to a 6-30 dated SA barrel. The metal retains 97-98% of the arsenal-applied parkerized finish, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, along some of the high edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the bolt. The walnut stock and humped handguard are in excellent shape with only some minor handling marks marring the otherwise excellent military oil finish. The stock is not proofmarked, but two "O.G.E.K." cartouches (Ogden Arsenal, Elmer Keith) are present, one on either side of the receiver. The stock compartment is empty but a Hoyt-made, 1918 dated Model 1907 leather sling in fine condition is installed. This is a handsome ‘03-A1 configured rifle, and is in excellent condition overall.
