WW2 US M1 Carbine by Underwood Intertype Corp. ROCK-OLA
Serial #2649817, .30 Carbine, 16" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, post-war bayonet lug-equipped carbine that has a "B" coded, "UNDERWOOD"-marked receiver (the "B" code denotes manufacture by Intertype Corp. for Underwood). The receiver is mated to a "(?) - 44" dated, Underwood barrel. Parts from various WW2 manufacturers are fitted: "ROCK-OLA" slide; flat ".U." bolt; "ROCK-OLA" stock iron; "INLAND" trigger housing; "KR" hammer; "RI" sear; "AI" barrel band with bayonet lug; and "H (in shield)" milled adjustable rear sight. The barrel retains traces of the original parkerized finish, with the balance turned to a dull pewter gray. The remaining metal retains 95-97% of a very nice armory reapplied parkerized finish, and about 80-85% of the original blue on the bolt, trigger, and push-button safety. The carbine is outfitted with a new, unmarked walnut stock and handguard set that has almost no handling marks or blemishes in the otherwise excellent oil finish. A single "AI" marked wartime magazine is included, and a reproduction canvas sling is fitted. This is a great looking M1 Carbine, with some desirable Rock-Ola parts, and is in very good-fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
