Rare British Enfield SMLE Mk. I*** Charger-Loading Rifle 1905

Serial #59129, .303 British, 25" barrel with a fair, lightly pitted bore. This is a 1905-dated, "ER" cyphered rifle that has retained about 70-75% of the arsenal blue applied during rework, with silvering along the high edges and bearing surfaces of the renumbered to match bolt (During Rework), as well as some brown fading on the matching nosecap. The rifle is still equipped with volley sights, magazine cut-off, sliding charger guide, and early SMLE rear sight. The walnut forend, handguards, and buttstock have numerous handling marks and blemishes scattered about the reapplied oil finish, with a stenciled "A" on the left side of the butt in red paint. A single magazine is included, and a period leather sling is fitted. This is an about good example of a desirable SMLE variant overall. FFL or C&R
