Swiss M1838 Short Sword Luzern
This is an early Swiss Model 1838 short sword marked on the spine with the shield of the Canton of Luzern, Switzerland. This is a rugged neoclassical style single edged sword. It measures 24" overall with an 18 3/4" un-fullered blade that is in very good condition, mostly bright with some isolated areas of light pitting. The handle, pommel and crossguard are one piece having a 3 1/2" wide guard with the classic three knobs on either side of the wooden scales. It comes in a brass tipped and throated leather scabbard unmarked, that dried and somewhat crazed leather with excellent tight stitching. An early Swiss sword in very good condition.
