Swiss M1896 Enlisted Cavalry Saber 1914 Dated

This is a Swiss made sword the measures 38 1/4" overall, with a 31 3/4" curved, single-edged-blade having one fullers and unsharpened to the tip. The steel has and overall dull pewter gray patina with a few scattered spots of plum-brown freckling on both faces of the blade. The ricasso is marked "Waffenfabrik Neuhausen", Swiss Cross with 19922 14" on the obverse, with the serial number being (19922). The hilt has a plain steel guard with two vertical slats, and dove head pommel with thumbprint backstrap. The leather grip is in very good condition and exhibits minor surface wear. The guard also features a leather finger loop fastened with a screw. The steel scabbard is in very good condition with some scattered areas of mild surface oxidation, and minor scratches along it's length. The sword rate very good-fine condition over-all.
