WW1 US Model 1905 Springfield Bayonet 1914

This is a WWII US M1905 Bayonet, manufactured in 1914 by the Springfield Armory. It is 20 ½” overall, 16” unsharpened blade. The blade retains some of the original ricasso bluing which the rest is in the white, nick free. All the US proof marks are correct on one side of the ricasso with the flaming bomb, US, R.A. and 1914. The guard retains very little of it's finish with signs of light oxidation and a bump or two. The wooden handles are tight and is fine condition with a small gouge on one scale, the functioning tab next too the guard works perfectly releasing the bayonet from the scabbard and rifle. This bayonet is accompanied by the correct US M1910 canvas scabbard also in very good condition with splits in the leather. Overall the combination is in fine condition.
