WW1 US Model 1917 Enfield Rifle by Winchester WW2 Ogden Arsenal Rework
Serial #77677, .30-06, 26" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle has a "W" marked, Winchester-made barrel with 12-17 date, and has mostly "W" marked parts, with the exception of the "E" marked, Eddystone bolt shroud. The "WINCHESTER" receiver also has the star-in-circle marking of pre-80,000 serial number production Winchester Model 1917s. The metal has retained 95-97% of an arsenal-added, WW2 era parkerized finish, with minor fading at the muzzle and on both the exposed edges and bearing surfaces of the bolt. The walnut stock has an "E" Eddystone marking on the nose, with scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the added varnish finish. A WW2 "OGEK" Ogden Arsenal rebuild inspection stamp is present on the left side of the stock just ahead of the wrist (denoting inspection by Ed Klouser). The rifle is fitted with a Model 1907 type leather sling that exhibits some minor crazing and flaking along the flex points, but is otherwise fully serviceable and in fine shape. This is a handsome WW2 refurbished Model 1917, and is in very good-fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
