WW2 British Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 Rifle and Bayonet (ROF Fazakerly FTR in 1947)

Serial #G16400, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore.  This is a 1942-dated rifle with partially visible BSA maker’s code on the left side of the wrist socket.  It was FTR (Factory Thorough Repair) refurbished at ROF Fazakerly in 1947 and is so marked on the left side of the receiver.  The metal retains 98-99% of the arsenal applied black Suncorite finish, with only a few spots of wear scattered about the metal surfaces and edges.  The matching bolt has some further wear on the handle and bearing surfaces, and a post-’68 import mark is present on the left side of the wrist socket where the trigger guard is attached.  The walnut stock has some minor handling marks scattered about the otherwise excellent arsenal oil finish, and a matching number is present on the underside of the forend.  The magazine has a matching number as well.  The rifle has a 1941-dated canvas sling installed that has become quite stiff with age, and a Mk. II spike bayonet with metal scabbard is also included.  This is a splendid WW2 No. 4, refurbished to virtually new condition after the war, and is in excellent condition overall.  FFL or C&R
