WW2 Era Military Flap Holster with Italian Milizia Nationale della Strada Insignia
This is a dark brown leather holster for a small frame automatic pistol (a Mauser Model 1910 fits very well) with single spare magazine pocket and single belt loop on the back. The leather has numerous scuffs and moderate flaking, with the stud-fastened belt loop having breaks and short tears at the top of the loop. The cover flap has the winged Fasces, lion head, and crown emblem of the Milizia Nationale della Strada (National Highway Militia/Police), the traffic enforcement arm of the Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nationale (Voluntary Militia for National Security). Formed in the late 1920s, they enforced traffic laws until Mussolini’s Fascists loss power during World War 2. This is a good-near very good holster with a rarely seen piece of Italian WW2 militaria.
