WWII Front-Seam Flexible Bale M1 Helmet USN Marked
This is a very nice example of a genuine WWII Front-Seam Flexible Bale M1 Helmet made by McCord Radiator, with a Westinghouse Electric liner. Front seam helmets were made 1943 till mid- 45 with Flexible Bales. This is a correct McCord front seam, production number is obscured with a painted interior and exterior, flexible chin strap. The exterior is painted "USN" with a red circle and a black circle. The high pressure plastic liner is near complete with "W" 106 in the crown and is of a later era. The headband was made by "Steinburg Bros Inc" with a 50's DLA code. (The M1 Helmet: Mark A Reynosa 1996)
